Alveary Booklist & Supply List Now Free!

After eleven years, we're opening something up to the public for the first time: the Alveary book and supply lists! A Charlotte Mason education is an education of books and things, and these lists are a window into that.

Many of you have asked to see the full lists for years, and we've heard you. You want to see what you're stepping into before you commit. You want an easy way to show parents at your Alveary school or hybrid all the wonderful books their students will read. You want to share Alveary titles quickly with your friends.

While a booklist doesn't show the full structure or support of Alveary or the full picture of how each book is used in our lesson plans, it does give you a clear starting point. Consider this our way of welcoming and inviting you to picture the year ahead.

Our hope is that this decision will allow the wider Charlotte Mason community to enjoy the books and supplies we love, regardless of whether an Alveary membership or individual Alveary courses are the best fit for you this year. Plus, many of our titles are not widely used outside of Alveary, and broader visibility helps keep them in print!

Pro Tip

As you explore the book and supply lists, take advantage of the filter feature (see our short tutorial if desired). It's the best way to narrow the list and make it useful for your situation. Due to the number of books and courses, we also recommend viewing with a desktop or laptop.

An Aside: New Nature Readers!

While we love all the books on the 2026-27 Alveary booklist, we're particularly excited about two new nature readers! In Walks with a Naturalist, we accompany a professional natural historian and educator as she notices the fascinating world all around us. Melissa Dowland opens our eyes to beauty and wonder as she relates stories about insects, spiders, birds, seeds, mammals, and more with curiosity, delight, and humility. Also included is a forward to the series from John Muir Laws and additional bonus material. We've scheduled these books in our Grades 1-2 Science program, but these stories are sure to delight readers of all ages.

An Invitation

If you find yourself wishing the booklist came with more structure, that's where Alveary members benefit most. Inside the planning tool, everything connects. You can build a schedule, customize courses, and generate a booklist that fits your family. The lesson plans are ready based on the courses you choose, so you're not starting from scratch.

Curious to see more? Have a question about a particular book?

If you're intrigued by a particular course, look in our shop when lesson plans release in June to have everything at your fingertips to make these books and supplies sing. Happy browsing!

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
